Wishlist’s Spring Carnival 2025 was held at the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre on Friday, September 12, raising an incredible $327,905 to support local patients and families.
This milestone would not have been possible without the generosity of our guests, donors, and sponsors.
Guests were welcomed with live music from talented husband-and-wife duo The Dan Light before being treated to a spectacular performance by The String Sirens, joined by vocalist Matt Hearne, to launch the main event.
Energy soared during the live auction, led by Ray White Maroochydore’s Dan Sowden. Thirteen major items went under the hammer, raising $151,000 alone.
Funds raised will help purchase three vital pieces of medical equipment:
- A Chromium iX Single-Cell Analysis System
- Two MolecuLight Imaging Devices
- Specialised Nerve Hyperexcitability Testing Equipment
One of the most moving moments of the day came when Teresa Cordwell shared her family’s journey with her son Rob, a 34-year-old Sunshine Coaster diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Rob’s specialist, Dr Antony Winkel, explained how the new testing equipment will improve the diagnosis and treatment of nerve and muscle disorders like MND, bringing life-changing care closer to home.
The event left many guests with a deeper understanding of MND and the importance of continued research and support.
