1. Collect Eligible Containers
Eligible containers include plastic bottles, glass bottles, wine bottles, spirit bottles, cans, flavoured milk, poppers.
Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard beverage containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible for a 10-cent refund.
Eligible containers must display the refund mark e.g. “10c refund at collection depots/points in participating State/Territory of purchase. Please note that glass wine and pure spirit bottles are exempt from displaying the 10c mark until January 2027.
2. Return Your Containers
There are four different types of refund points available in Queensland. Plus, containers for change offer a free home collection service. Check out the list of Queensland suburbs here.

Depots
Walk in or drive through to get your containers counted and refunded on the spot. Best for large loads.

Bag Drops
Simply ‘bag it, tag it, drop it’. Bag drops are available at various locations as a convenient and contact free way to cash in.

Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs)
Insert containers into an RVM so the machine can count your containers by scanning their barcodes. Best for smaller returns.

Pop-ups
These are run by local depot operators who organise a set time and location that you can visit to return your containers.

3. Container Collection is available
Select Wishlist as your charity cause. Your containers will change lives.
This free home collection service allows you to cash in your containers for good from the comfort of home and is available in selected Queensland suburbs now.
Booking a collection is easy - just select your pick-up date via the online booking form, we’ll collect directly from your home and your refund will be donated to Wishlist's preferred payment method.
Collect 100 eligible containers
Collect a minimum of 100 eligible containers and remove their lids. Look for the 10c mark to make sure they're eligible.
Make a booking
Use our booking system online or on our app to make a booking for one of the dates offered in your suburb.
Donate your refund
Choose where you want your refund to go in your member account.

Are you a SCHHS staff member?
Pick up an orange recycling bag from the Wishlist office (Ground floor at SCUH) to take home and collect your empties. You can then drop them back to the Wishlist office and we'll recycle them for you. Don't forget to use the blue bins positioned around the hospital while at work.
