John Williams – Chairman
John is the former CEO of Sunshine Coast Broadcasters Pty Ltd, (92.7 MIX FM & 91.9 Sea FM) responsible for all facets of this broadcasting network. Williams led both stations on the Sunshine Coast for almost 17 years and is widely acknowledged for his dedication to the business & charity community. John regularly engages with many community groups providing fund raising strategies, along with commercial and marketing support. One of his proudest achievements is the success of "MIX FM’s Give Me Five" fundraiser that has generated over $7 million for the region’s children's hospital services. John has headed several successful radio entities, including 4BC Brisbane, 2UW & MIX 106.5 Sydney and the national sales arm of The Australian Radio Network with some 350 staff across Australia. John’s wealth of knowledge assists in boosting the profile of Wishlist as a charitable organisation. John is a member of the Wishlist Partnerships, Fundraising and Marketing committee & Finance, Audit & Risk Management (FARM) committee. John is Chair of the Sunshine Coast Events Board, Judge of Sunshine Coast Business Women of the Year Awards, and serves on committees for Sunshine Coast 2032, Sunshine Coast Business Awards & Steps Group of charities.
Warren McRae - Deputy Chairman
Warren is an Accounting, Financial Services and Governance qualified independent professional Director with international C-Suite level Executive and Board experience. He has lived and worked in multiple locations - Continental Europe, Asia, the UK and Australia – most recently as Global Chief Operating Officer for Barclays Private Bank where he was responsible for operational and commercial management, strategy, change delivery, digital and technology innovation, as well as risk, control and governance across multiple entities and countries.
He is a Board Member of CPA Australia and has recently been appointed to the position of Deputy President for the organisation. Warren is a Fellow of CPA Australia, Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Tony Long – Board Member
Tony has a more than 50 years’ experience in urban planning, property development, communications, marketing and Local Government. He has been involved in the development of many iconic Sunshine Coast properties including the multi-award winning Kawana Waters Master Plan. Tony brings to the Wishlist board his expertise in strategic planning and project management for the property sector having developed a range of projects (health, food and beverage, industrial, and residential apartments).
Brent King – Board Member
Brent practices as a solicitor litigating both commercial and criminal matters throughout South-East Queensland, and since 2021, has served as a director of a large local firm to service the Sunshine Coast community.
Having experienced the strength and togetherness of that community over a number of years, Brent brings a particularly strategic and fresh approach to advocating for its needs in Wishlist’s endeavours, and in providing advice to the Board.
Keryn Angle - Board Member
Keryn relocated to Queensland and settled in Gympie after living in Melbourne for 22 years. Holding a Bachelors Degree in English and History and a further Post Graduate degree in Public Relations and Marketing, Keryn has applied these skills in multiple roles at SeaFM, Mercedes Benz and NAB. Professional and extremely proactive, Keryn, has an outstanding reputation as a trustworthy individual within the real estate industry. Keryn and her husband Pete launched One Agency Gympie in 2018. Keryn is well connected and will bring a dynamic enthusiasm, and well-respected network to the Wishlist Board. Her passion for her town will ensure that Gympie is a well represented part of the Wishlist Sunshine Coast Health Foundation.
Dr Peter Gillies – Board Member
Peter was appointed as Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service Chief Executive in October 2021. Previous to that Peter was with Darling Downs Health Service in 2 roles. Initially as Director of Medical Services from 2009 and then as Executive Director of Medical Services until becoming Chief Executive there in January 2016. Peter is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators and has a Masters of Business Administration from Otago University. He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has a background in general management, previously working as the general manager of a health software company and regional manager for a not-for-profit private hospital group in Auckland, New Zealand. He has been a doctor for 30 years and has worked in hospital and general practice roles in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
Chris Ward – Hospital & Health Board ex officio Member
Chris is an experienced board member, senior executive, lawyer and Queensland business leader, with a reputation for strategic thinking and a demonstrated track record of building organisational cultures that deliver success for all stakeholders. Currently serving as Deputy Chair of Sunshine Coast Health, Chris has held numerous board and directorship roles, including with Advoc, an international network of 90 law firms with a presence in 70 countries, and with Gladstone Ports Corporation. Chris is committed to community engagement, drawing on his extensive skills in communication, mediation and relationship-building to foster positive outcomes.
Miranda McLennan – Board Member
Miranda is a corporate growth executive, entrepreneur, and prominent community connector, with over a decade of multi-industry experience. Miranda’s career was initially in human resources, people leadership and fractional corporate growth. She is now the founder of Those Who Dare Agency, managing talent and brands. Miranda is a volunteer Board Director for Wishlist, where she sits on the Fundraising and Marketing Committee and serves on the executive committee for the Sunshine Coast Young Chamber of Commerce.
Natasha Read – Board Member
Natasha is a highly-experienced leader of people and culture, strategy and operations. Natasha has worked in governance and executive roles across the Sunshine Coast community and not-for-profit sector for more than 20 years. Natasha brings her proven track record in service operations, human resource management, marketing, project management, relationship development and strategic leadership to governance roles to the Wishlist Board.
Amanda Yeates – Board Member
Amanda is the CEO of SunCentral (Maroochydore City Centre) after more than 12 years in management positions for Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads. Amanda has been appointed to several Boards including the Sydney Metro Review, Queensland Apprenticeship Advisory Reference Group, Australian Institute of Company Directors Sunshine Coast and the UniSC Engineering Advisory Council. As a registered engineer, Amanda will provide valuable experience and future insights for the growth of Wishlist.
