If you’ve ever wondered where Wishlist draws its inspiration, look no further than Sunshine Coast local, Rob Cordwell.
Diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) at just 32 years old, Rob’s determination to make a difference for others facing similar challenges has sparked a powerful community response, and a major step forward for local healthcare.
Thanks to the incredible generosity at our recent Wishlist Spring Carnival, in exciting news Wishlist will fund a Nerve Excitability Testing System for the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Currently, this testing is only available in Sydney.
With this new equipment, the Sunshine Coast will become the second site in Australia able to offer the specialised testing, meaning earlier diagnosis and faster treatment for patients like Rob.
The new system will also strengthen ongoing collaborative research between the Brain and Mind Centre Sydney and Sunshine Coast Health Director of Neurology and Stroke, Dr Antony Winkel.
If you would like to support us in funding vital medical equipment and research, donate to Wishlist today.
