Christmas comes early thanks to Brisbane Broncos

17 Dec 2025

The Brisbane Broncos surprised young patients staying at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, to deliver gifts in the lead up to Christmas.

Former NRL player Jack Reed, premiership winning women’s player Romy Teitzel and Sunshine Coast Falcons players Zion Johnson and Josh Lynn, joined forces to spread festive cheer in the paediatric ward.

This is the fourth year Wishlist and the Brisbane Broncos have collaborated to create this memorable experience for Sunshine Coast children.

But this year was special, as it was the first time the club could bring the NRL and NRLW trophies after winning both premierships.

Putting a smile on everyone’s faces is “what it’s all about at the end of the day” for Jack Reed, who has participated in every Christmas SCUH visit.

“We sat outside before and the parents were more excited for the trophies, and I think once the colouring books and teddies came out, the kids had big smiles on their faces,” he said.

“We understand the importance of giving back to the community, and this is a group of people that are struggling a little bit leading into Christmas.”

A special thanks to the Brisbane Broncos, Sunshine Coast Falcons and the Sunshine Coast Mayor Rosanna Natoli who helped deliver gifts to the patients.
