Wishlist therapy dogs become stars of the small screen

27 May 2025

The Wishlist therapy dogs have become patient favourites in Sunshine Coast and Gympie hospitals and now they are about to be taken to a much bigger audience.

Channel 10 TV program Pooches at Play visited the Sunshine Coast University Hospital this week to film a segment on the great work done by our therapy dogs.

Host Lara Shannon sat down with patient Margie Berbers who was one of the first people to be introduced to a therapy dog at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

But as always the stars of the show were the therapy dogs themselves – Abby, Koda, Bella and Stella, and their handlers Bob, Sharon and Tara.

Our therapy dogs and their handlers joined by host of Pooches at Play Lara Shannon at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Wishlist CEO Brendan Hogan spoke about the importance of the partnership with Petstock which means there can now be more paws on the floors in Sunshine Coast and Gympie hospitals.

Driven by a shared commitment to empowering a better future, the Petstock Foundation has committed $50,000 to expand the program that aims to provide better health services for everyone through more visitation and therapy assistance.

Wishlist will post the Pooches at Play story here when Channel 10 airs it in a couple of months’ time – so watch this space.
