Sunshine Coast Radiology named SCLMA Gala Platinum Sponsor

18 Jun 2024

One of the region’s largest diagnostic imaging services has signed on to become the top sponsors for the Sunshine Coast Local Medical Association’s fundraising gala this year.

The SCLMA Gala will see around 300 medical professionals converge at Maroochy RSL on Friday, August 2 to network, celebrate and raise vital funds for hospital charity – Wishlist.

Proceeds from this year’s event will help purchase a lifesaving medical device for the Sunshine Coast University Hospital - a 3D imaging machine called a Biplane Unit.

The new equipment will enable the establishment of the region's first clot-retrieval service, eliminating the need for stroke and brain aneurysm patients to travel to Brisbane for critical treatment.

This year’s SCLMA Gala is proudly supported by Platinum Sponsor Sunshine Coast Radiology, a major provider of diagnostic imaging services and radiology education in Queensland.

Sunshine Coast Radiology General Manager Sharon Hinchley states, “Sunshine Coast Radiology is honoured to be the major sponsor of this year’s SCLMA gala, we are dedicated to enhancing healthcare on the Sunshine Coast.

“At Sunshine Coast Radiology, we understand the critical role innovative medical equipment plays in patient care, and by supporting this gala and the cause, we're not only investing in state-of-the-art technology but also in the wellbeing of our community."

Wishlist CEO Lisa Rowe said the 2024 SCLMA Gala would feature live entertainment, raffles and delicious food.

“We are very excited to be raising funds for the Biplane Unit at this year’s SCLMA Gala, and every donation brings us closer to ensuring stroke patients receive the care they need right here on the Sunshine Coast,” Ms Rowe said.

"In total, we need to raise $600,000 for this critical piece of equipment. We know that every minute counts, and every dollar makes a difference."

We urgently need to raise $600,000 to purchase the Biplane Unit.

Every minute counts, every dollar counts.
