Travis Schultz, Sunshine Coast lawyer, businessman, community benefactor and now a holder of the Medal for the Order of Australia (OAM).
Travis was the organising Chair for the inaugural Wishlist Spring Carnival held in 2009 and remained in that role until 2015.
Current Chair Dan Sowden said Travis was the original visionary behind the event.
“He challenged convention and created an experience that was truly unmatched at the time,” Dan said.
“His ambition extended beyond the event itself—Travis deliberately positioned the Wishlist Spring Carnival to place the Sunshine Coast on the national stage, successfully engaging nationally recognised celebrities and media figures to do so.”
A key achievement during his tenure was the development of a long-standing relationship with Channel 7, which saw Mark Beretta and Natalie Barr from Sunrise serve as event emcees for more than a decade. Travis was also instrumental in connecting the event with Jennifer Hawkins through her Myer affiliation, further strengthening the event’s national profile and appeal.
Wishlist CEO Brendan Hogan congratulated Travis on the well-deserved recognition.
“Wishlist and the Sunshine Coast are all the better for Travis’ leadership, determination and support over many years.
After stepping away from the Spring Carnival Committee, Travis continued his support of Wishlist as a sponsor, maintaining a strong and genuine connection to the cause.
Travis Schultz & Partners has now recommitted for a further three years as a joint major sponsor, a partnership that will carry the event through to its significant 20-year milestone.
Travis remains deeply connected within our community. He has a unique ability to bring people and businesses together, uniting them behind a shared purpose and driving meaningful outcomes for causes that matter.
