Wishlist Spring Carnival raises $282,104

05 Sep 2022

More than 850 of the Sunshine Coast region’s most generous locals and business professionals came together for the 2022 Wishlist Spring Carnival on Friday to raise funds for services within Wishlist Centre.

Held at the Sunshine Coast Convention Centre, the event raised an incredible $282,104 in just five hours with one auction item – local artist Kendall’s painting - fetching $15,000 from one lucky bidder.

The day featured fashion, almost 100 auction items, an enviable travel raffle thanks to Sunshine Coast Airport, renowned local businesses, and well-known local and national identities including Sunrise host Natalie Barr attending the event.

Funds from the day will support patients and families accessing services within Wishlist Centre, which opens opposite the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in November.

“Thanks to our generous community, these vital funds will be directed to support programs to assist patients with cancer, and an innovative program to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people on the Sunshine Coast,” Wishlist Acting CEO Brendan Hogan says.

Since inception in 2009, the Wishlist Spring Carnival series has raised more than $2 million to enhance public healthcare on the Sunshine Coast through the provision of medical equipment, research and education, and support services for patients and families.

“I’d like to publicly thank our sponsors including major sponsors Walter Iezzi Property Group and Pacific Motor Group, the hundreds of guests, generous auction donors, team of dedicated volunteers, and our organising committee for making this event one of the most memorable yet."For more information, click here for Wishlist events, Wishlist Centre or volunteering.
