28 Mar 2024

In a remarkable display of generosity and community spirit, health charity Wishlist has exceeded all expectations during their annual Wishlist Giving Day appeal.

Held on Wednesday, March 27, Wishlist Giving Day saw an incredible $280,600 raised within just 12 hours, surpassing the charity's ambitious goal.

Wishlist Partnerships and Fundraising Manager Lisa Wilson expressed her gratitude, stating: "We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our incredible community”.

“This astounding result exceeded our initial target of $265,000 and showcases the unwavering dedication of our supporters."

“From all the volunteer callers who hit the phones to rally donations, to our generous matchers Protector Aluminium, GVS Reliability Products, the Meade family, Sunshine Toyota, Billy J, Just Better Care and more, plus … This $208,600 will go a long way in enhancing our local public health services for Sunshine Coast and Gympie families.”

This year’s top fundraising teams included AUSMAR at $19,275 (pictured below), followed closely by Sunshine Toyota at $19,050.

In addition to corporate and community efforts, health heroes from the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service got creative to fundraise with raffles, a bake sale, second-hand clothing store, team Olympics, a planking competition, donut-eating contest, and spirited dress-up events.
