The House The Coast Built

We're building more than bricks & mortar - together with Ausmar Homes, we're building a legacy that will help thousands of people from remote and rural locations across Queensland as well as Coast locals.

With your help, families and carers will have access to local affordable family accommodation while their loved ones undergo treatment, surgery or emergency stays at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH).

Together we can build a home away from home for patients and their families on the Sunshine Coast.

Follow the Journey

Throughout 2018 the local community have shown their ongoing support for this exciting project during the 92.7 Mix FM's Give Me 5 For Kids campaign, the Wishlist Spring Carnival and Sunshine Toyota Exclusive 300 Club Melbourne Cup Luncheon.
We've secured land within walking distance of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH).
Building has started at the block - 11 Affinity Place, Birtinya.
  The slab has been poured.
We've reached another milestone - the lock up!
More than 60 businesses have pitched in so far to make this important project a reality.

UPDATE: We're making the home wheelchair friendly

The house is full-steam ahead with Ausmar Homes reaching the stage of making the 6-bedroom home wheelchair friendly. Our goal is to create a home away from home that is accessible to everyone that needs to stay close to their loved-ones in hospital.

To date, more than 60 local businesses have pitched in to make this important project a reality. Wishlist and Ausmar Homes are so very grateful for your overwhelming support and couldn’t be prouder to be part of the amazing Sunshine Coast community.

We look forward to accommodating families from the Coast and beyond in April 2020.

Previous Years

With the help of the Sunshine Coast community we have successfully built and sold three incredible houses in previous years. The funds raised from these projects allowed us to build the Cancer Centre at Nambour Hospital and fund other vital health initiatives.

In 2003 the award winning The House the Coast Built rallied the Coast community like never before, raising almost $400,000 for Wishlist and enabling them to start work on the long awaited Sunshine Coast Cancer Centre at Nambour Hospital.

Then in 2012, Ausmar Group built Wishlist House raising much needed funds to grow a better local service for Coast families needing eye surgery.

In 2015, the third The House the Coast Built was constructed over a 16 week period with the help of over 60 local contractors donating their time, skills and resources. This project raised more than $300,000 for paediatric needs right here on the Coast, including the Fabio The Frog project.
