Anaconda Gold Coast Adventure Race
Ewa Russell will be competing in the Anaconda Gold Coast Adventure Race on the 5th Setember, 2010. This will include a 1.9km swim, 15k paddle, 12km run, 18.5 ride and a further 2km run to the finish. She is looking for sponsors and will donate all funds raised to the "Special Care Nursery" at the Nambour General Hospital.
I have only been paddling for just under two months and during the training day last Sunday I attempted my first wave encounter and failed to get through the Currumbin bar. I was discouraged and disappointed but I am determined to get through the bar on race day. I have been out in the surf every day trying to get out past the waves and riding them back in to help me get used to the waves. I am praying that the conditions on the day are nice and calm which will make it so much easier to complete the paddle. I have a little boy who is 17 months old now and I really cherish being a mum so I thought I would take this opportunity to help and ease other parents tough times at the beginning of their precious little ones lives.

Namrock rocked and staff strutted their stuff
Southern Cluster staff strutted their stuff and proved they've got talent outside the hospital corridors at this year's Namrock. The event raised funds for Wishlist's Nambour Hospital Emergency Department project.

Sckoping Network
|
In September 2009, Drs Chris Lilley and Franco Ambrosio undertook a circumnavigation of Australia by motorcycle, to fulfil one of their lifelong goals and to raise awareness of the effects mental illness can have on many Australians. Both bikes were provided by Coastline BMW, Sunshine Coast who have been a major supporter of SCKOPING and Wishlist. Thank you boys for raising $2,763 for the ScKoping Network and helping to increase the awareness of the needs of children and families where a parent or caregiver is affected by mental health issues.
