Reed House

Helping patients and families stay close during treatment on the Sunshine Coast.

As of 2 May 2018, Wishlist will resume responsibility of the management of Reed House to continue to enhance patient care across the Sunshine Coast, Gympie and the wider community.

We thank the Australian Red Cross and their volunteers for their dedication to Reed House for the past nine years and look forward to continuing the legacy for future patients and their families.

The History of Reed House

Reed House (formerly known as Reed Charity House) was built in 2009 as an emergency medical accommodation service for patients of Nambour General Hospital and their families. This has since expanded to include Selangor, Caloundra and the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Built by generous contractors and local construction company, RCQ, the impressive facility is the result of collaboration between The Reed Charity Foundation, Wishlist, the Australian Red Cross, local Rotary Clubs and the wider community.

In 2012 after 3 years of fundraising, the Doug Biggs Memorial Sky Bridge connected Reed House directly to Nambour General Hospital to significantly improve access for patients.
