Wishlist Was There for Me Stories
Watch our brand new TV commercials featuring real stories of local people who have benefited from Wishlist’s work.
In this story, see how the Wishlist-funded SCkoping camps (run through the Sunshine Coast Koping Network) helped gorgeous teenager Shannon find hope during a troubling time. Wishlist funds these annual camps for young people like Shannon who are in a home environment affected by drugs, alcohol and mental health issues.
Born unexpectedly early, baby Brodie was given the best chance at survival thanks to a dedicated team at the Special Care Nursery and equipment for premature babies that was funded by Wishlist with the help of a generous Sunshine Coast community.
Beautiful Chris has been through a lot since her cancer diagnosis, but she has never lost her kind spirit or sense of humour. She is one of many cancer patients Wishlist is humbled to have helped by raising the funds to build the $1.5million Cancer Centre at Nambour Hospital, a multidisciplinary centre where most local patients can go for treatment rather than having to travel to Brisbane.
Nina has a brand new baby and two other young children at home, and the extended postnatal service has made a big difference to her and many other young local famillies. Thanks to two new vehicles funded by Wishlist, midwives are able to visit mums with newborns in the comfort of their own home, answering any concerns they have and ensuring both mum and bub are healthy, happy and looked after.
