Give Me 5 For Kids

92.7 Mix FM's Give Me 5 for Kids makes a real difference to the lives of the children of the Sunshine Coast and their families.

The month-long appeal is held in June every year and has raised more than $4 million for the needs of local paediatric patients.

Comprising of multiple events, socials, on-air auctions and a tin drive, the successful campaign is spearheaded by Mix FM's dedicated team who rally the community each year to help create a world-class public health care for our youngest patients.

As the beneficiary of Mix FM's Give Me 5 for Kids, Wishlist is able to direct all the funds raised towards the needs of our local children's wards, purchasing new equipment and equipment upgrades, service support projects and initiatives to make a child's hospital stay a little bit brighter.

2017 GM5FK raised $403,689 and supported the following projects:

  • Continuing the local Clown Doctor service to bring smiles to the faces of the Coast's youngest patients.
  • Finishing touches on the Children's Ward and Paediatric Emergency Department at SCUH including play pods, distractive equipment and therapy.
  • Continuing the Yoga Therapy programme which costs around $13,000 each year.
  • Two Hamilton T1 ventilators for paediatric emergency patients at both Nambour and SCUH Emergency Departments costing $82,000. The first local Mix FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids appeal held in 2000 raised funds to purchase a ventilator for retrievals and we replaced that equipment with Mix FM GM5 funds 10 years later.
