Staff Scholarship Funding

Did you know ANY staff member within the Sunshine Coast Health Services District is eligible to apply for educational funding from Wishlist?

Wishlist provides $100,000 each year to the Staff Scholarship Fund, and this education funding is available for any staff member – full time, part time or casual, in any department. There are four scholarship rounds per year and we have recently reworded the application forms to make them clearer and easier to follow.

There are 3 types of scholarships available, so have a close look at what we fund to determine the application form you need:

1.  Conference Seminars and Workshop Scholarship

These scholarships are designed to assist staff in attending relevant professional conferences, seminars and workshops (including inviting speakers to the District). To apply, fill in the Conference/Workshop/Seminar application form. Staff are invited to apply in any of the four rounds offered each year. Round 4 opens 18th of April and closes on 10th of June, 2012.

2.  Academic Staff Scholarships

The Academic Scholarships are Annual Scholarships (one round yearly) providing financial support to participate in relevant Undergraduate or Post Graduate studies offered through university or the VET sector. These scholarships are designed to assist staff to undertake study or research and attend relevant study tours. To apply for an Academic Staff Scholarship you must complete the Study / Education application form. The 2012 round closed on April 8.  

3. The Mike Kelly Educational Bursary 

The funding available for academic scholarships includes the annual Mike Kelly Academic Scholarship (awarded annually) valued up to $5000.00 and an additional $10,000.00 for Post and Undergraduate Scholarships. Staff are invited to apply via the Mike Kelly Scholarship Application Kit.

Mike Kelly has been Chairman of Wishlist since it’s inception in 1998. The Mike Kelly Academic Scholarship is designed to enable SC Health Service District staff to apply for financial support to participate in relevant Undergraduate or Post Graduate studies offered through university or the VET sector.
