Project/Equipment Funding

Wishlist has an annual $1 million commitment to improving local health services. This year there are 4 funding rounds with funds available to support:

• Healthy Aging
• Capital Projects
• New medical equipment and the upgrade of medical equipment 
• Service development/support projects
• Paediatric services/equipment through Mix FM's GM5 for Kids campaign

WHERE DOES THE FUNDING COME FROM?

Funding allocated to projects is generated through Wishlist's fundraising events, sponsorships, grants and donations.

HOW OFTEN IS THE PROJECT FUNDING AVAILABLE?

There will be four rounds in the 2011/2012 financial year.

WHO CAN APPLY?

• Queensland Health Departments
• Related Sunshine Coast community organisations where the project will be undertaken in conjunction with or overseen by a Queensland Health representative.

Research Grants

As part of our $1million commitment to Sunshine Coast health services this financial year, Wishlist called for research grant funding applications from nursing staff in Nambour, Caloundra, Gympie and Maleny in the following categories:

• Pilot studies (not to exceed $5,000)
• Implementation studies (not to exceed $5,000)
• RCT studies (not to exceed $20,000)
• Dissemination studies (not to exceed $60,000 and allocated over a two-year period).

Research projects can include both small hospital-based and community-based projects and more extensive District-wide projects.

It is expected that all research projects will have the potential to contribute significantly to improve health outcomes.

They will also contribute to existing research based practices through publication and presentation of findings at local, state-wide, national and international conferences by the principal investigator and members of the research team.

The 2011 research round opened on March 7, 2011 and closed July 22, 2011. The next research round will open in 2012, with dates TBA.
